![]() ![]() Yes I agree they could be millennial, or zillennial I was trying to tell the other guy they aren’t “equal” and they a few different experiences from the rest of us. ![]() Can relate to both millennials and Gen z because they share similar experiences growing up in the middle of both generations.Their parents can range from boomers, Gen X, to Xennials but lean more Gen X.Dominated pop culture and media from the early 2010s-present day.First cohort on social media as children or young teenagers: Tumblr, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook.Particularly old enough to grasp what happened (if it doesn’t apply let it fly don’t me) or can compare life pre 9/11 (majority of childhood post 9/11) First US Presidential Election 2016 or 2020.Birth rates dropped between these years compare to first wave millennials.Newly 30 or approaching 30 this year or next. Some have late boomer early gen x parents.dominated media in the early 2010s-Present day.Apart of the teenage cohort to dominate the big three social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).Pre Social Media Childhood but not adolescence.Do not remember life before the internet.Mid-Late 30s with the exception of (89-90).When you think of the word millennials this age range comes to mind as to what the media portrayed.First US elections 2004 or 2008 (this age range elected Obama).May or may not remember life before the internet.Parents of teenage Zoomers and older AlphaĬore millennials (1985- 1990) also peak 90s kids.Fully experienced the 90s as kids and tweens.First US Presidential Election 2000 or 2004. ![]() However as you say, it's hard for me to assess the impact on me personally.Įlder millennials (1981-1984) 90s kids/tweens I'm not a vet, but I can say for certain at the time I didn't think we would have to be over there so long that when I graduated '09 Osama would still be on the run, and people my age who joined the military would be in the heat of OEF. I also remember the news cycle change in the years following with the seemingly daily reports IEDs, car bombs, roadside bombs, suicide bombs, rocket attacks, etc Not an elder millennial understanding, but I understood enough as it happened (the gist?) that I knew or wasn't surprised why we were suddenly sending military to the middle east shortly afterward and had ramped up our own security. We then got let out early, rode the bus home, and I walked into the living room continued to watch there when the collapses (and news of the Pentagon hit and flight 93) happened. On TV, the towers were smoking and the class was silent. An announcement to turn on the TV came on. I never forget it - morning English class. I was in 5th for 9/11, so it happened at an odd age for our class (10-11). You are a 88/89er? Either way I resonate with the 9/11 thing. ![]()
